Welcome to the Bundaberg Bowls Club Inc. July Newsletter.

A big welcome to new bowlers who have joined our Club recently and also the bowlers from other

Clubs who have been participating in our Roll Ups during Stage 1 and Stage 2 Covid-19 period

this year.

I hope you are all well and looking forward to Covid-19 Stage 3 playing Social and Competitive

bowls again. There have been changes by Bowls QLD and the Chief Health Officer; we can now

have

50 bowlers on each Green per session (i.e. 100 bowlers per session)

During next week there will be no changes but the following week from 10 July it will be back to

normal playing on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday starting at 12.30 p.m. until September or so.

Green Fees will be $10.00 a player.

Game nominations will be by phone each day from now. Phone John Clough on 0419643079.

There will be Nomination Sheets available in the Club on Game Days for the following week.

Keep in mind that we will be catering for Bundaberg Club members and Bargara Club members

who are without a home until late this year. Bargara members have supported us well during the

Covid-19 Period and just wish to continue that support into the future. Depending on numbers,

most games will be Triples but there may be some Pairs games. We are hoping to get both

Greens full on most bowling days. All social days will be Mixed Bowls but at times there will be

Competition Bowls too. Bargara Bowls Club will be organizing their own Competition Bowls

and will fit in with us.

Also if you are not feeling well before your nominated session let John know early so he can fill

your place with another bowler. Dress Code is Mufti or otherwise on Social Days and Money

Days.

Our regular Mixed Triples Money Days will commence on Thursday 23 July with Bundaberg

Eye Clinic sponsored $420.00 Money Day. Then on the 30 July Bundaberg Marineland will

have their sponsored $600.00 Money Day. This will follow soon after on Tuesday 4 August with

Advanced Foot Care sponsored $420.00 Money Day.

Mens Competition is about to commence on Friday 10 July at 1.00 p.m. with A Grade Singles -

Mick Stumbles v Brian Mann. Marker: Victor Schmidt.

On Saturday 11 July at 12.30 p.m., A Grade Singles -

Bob Lowndes v John Francis. Marker: Rob Chambers.

Also on Saturday 11 July at 12.30 p.m. there will be three B Grade Singles matches.

Victor Schmidt v Greg Purches. Marker: Mark Gillam

Terry Lear v Denis Petersen. Marker: Gerard Van Haren

Tim Lincoln v Reni Nikora. Marker: Richard Ribbans (Umpire)

Bundaberg District Mens Pennant Competition will begin on Saturday 1 August at 1.00 p.m.

Bundaberg Bowls Club have nominated teams in Division 2, 3 and 4. Thank you to all the

players who have indicated that they will assist the selectors during this period.

The Bundaberg District Ladies Pennant Competition is still to be announced but is a work in

progress.
